1. Welcome

Welcome to Meet Riven.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Meet Riven, including our website, applications and related services.

By creating an account or using Meet Riven, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use Meet Riven.

2. About Meet Riven

Meet Riven is an AI companion designed to provide meaningful conversations, emotional support and companionship through artificial intelligence.

Riven is intended to help people build supportive, long-term conversations. While we strive to provide thoughtful, empathetic and helpful responses, Riven is not human.

Meet Riven is designed to complement—not replace—real human relationships or professional care where those are needed.

Meet Riven is not:

• a medical service;
• a licensed therapist or psychologist;
• a crisis intervention service;
• a lawyer;
• a financial advisor;
• a substitute for emergency services.

You should not rely on Meet Riven for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, believe you may harm yourself or others, or require immediate assistance, you should contact your local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional immediately.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Meet Riven account or use the service.

By using Meet Riven, you confirm that you meet this minimum age requirement.

4. Your Account

To use Meet Riven, you'll need to create an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your information reasonably up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your password secure.

You may not share your account with other individuals or allow others to access Meet Riven using your account.

If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact us as soon as possible.

5. Using Meet Riven

Meet Riven is designed to encourage respectful, supportive and meaningful conversations.

We ask that you use Meet Riven in good faith and treat both the service and other users with respect.

You agree not to:

• use Meet Riven for unlawful purposes;
• attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems;
• use automated systems to abuse the service;
• attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the platform;
• use Meet Riven to generate or distribute illegal, harmful or fraudulent content;
• use Meet Riven or its responses to develop, train or improve competing artificial intelligence systems or services without our prior written permission.

6. AI Limitations

Meet Riven uses artificial intelligence to generate responses.

While we continuously work to improve the quality of those responses, artificial intelligence can make mistakes, misunderstand context or provide incomplete or inaccurate information.

Because of this:

• responses may not always be accurate;
• responses should not be considered factual without verification;
• responses should not replace professional advice or human judgment where appropriate.

You are responsible for evaluating the information provided by Meet Riven before acting upon it.

Riven is designed to provide conversation, companionship and support—not certainty.

Conversations with Riven should be viewed as supportive interactions rather than objective facts or professional conclusions.

Different people may receive different responses to similar questions, and conversations may evolve over time as Riven learns more about your shared context.

7. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Meet Riven if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, interfere with security or operation, or if we are required to do so by law.

Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to notify you before permanently terminating your account.

You may delete your account at any time through the application settings.

We reserve the right to refuse service where necessary to protect Meet Riven, our users or our infrastructure.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features of Meet Riven require a paid subscription.

Subscription prices, features and billing intervals are presented before you complete your purchase.

Payments are securely processed by Stripe.

Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe Customer Portal.

Changes to subscription pricing will not affect your current billing period and will be communicated in advance where required by law.

Refunds

Because Meet Riven includes an opportunity to evaluate the service through a free trial, subscription payments are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started.

Refund requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis, for example in the event of duplicate charges or significant technical issues that prevented you from using the service.

Submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a refund will be issued.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that may apply under applicable law.

9. Intellectual Property

Meet Riven, including its software, design, branding, logos, content and underlying technology, is owned by Meet Riven AI or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of any part of Meet Riven.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or create derivative works from Meet Riven except where permitted by applicable law.

10. Availability of the Service

We work hard to keep Meet Riven available and reliable.

However, we cannot guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors.

From time to time, Meet Riven may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue certain features of Meet Riven as the service evolves.

11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Meet Riven is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meet Riven AI disclaims all warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms.

To the extent permitted by law, Meet Riven AI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from the use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

12. Changes to these Terms

Meet Riven may update these Terms from time to time as the service evolves, new features are introduced or legal requirements change.

When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms and, where appropriate, notify you through the application or by email.

By continuing to use Meet Riven after updated Terms become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Meet Riven will be governed by the laws of the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
